  Just Do It
John 15:1-17

Jesus is teaching basic discipleship in this passage and it's all about our relationship with Him. He uses the vineyard illustration here with the Character of the Gardener- God the Father, the true Vine- Himself, and the branches that are to bear fruit-the disciples.

1) What is implied in His statement that the Father "cuts off every branch that does not bear fruit"?  What would that look like in an individual's life?

2) What form does "pruning" take in the life of a fruit bearing disciple? Talk about a time when you experienced pruning.

3) How do we "remain in Him" in a very practical terms?
What is the power of His words remaining in us?

How do we make sure that happens?

4) According to Jesus in this text what is the secret to having His joy?

5) The Master models life for the Disciple, Jesus said to love each other as He loved us. What does that look like in our relationships?

6) The fruit we are to bear as Disciples is summed up in this command: Love each other. Why is this so hard?

On 10-10-10, GP will close its doors for the day and go out into the community.  What are some ideas you have for projects that would make a difference in the lives of those around us?  (If you have some good ones, be sure to turn them in!)
